Valley Ruach

Holidays

If you're looking for a place to celebrate almost every major (and some minor) Jewish holidays with other Jews in their 20s and 30s in the Valley, look no further than Valley Ruach!

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

Since 2008, Valley Ruach has been hosting a complete lineup of High Holiday services for young professionals in the Valley. Just like our Shabbat services, all High Holiday services are geared toward the 20s and 30s crowd, are guitar-accompanied, fully participatory, and shorter than traditional Conservative services. More information will be available during the months prior to Rosh Hashanah

Poker in the Sukkah

One of the favorites of most Valley Ruach community members, the no-limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament in the Sukkah is generally held on the Saturday night during Sukkot, in the sukkah at Adat Ari El. The game is played on real poker tables, with professional dealers and casino-quality chips. Buy-in is generally $20-$30, and the top prize is worth $300-$500. The evening includes free food and drinks, and for those who don't want to play (or get knocked out early), spend some time in the Losers' Lounge, with games, snacks, drinks and a huge Wii screen.

Simchat Torah

Dance with the Torahs and then head off to Valley Ruach's Simchat Torah party exclusively for the 20s and 30s crowd. The theme and event varies each year, and has included swing dancing, ice cream sundae contests and dessert cocktail contests.

Hanukah

Free drinks, great games and fried foods galore make Valley Ruach's Hanukah party an exciting event. While the event evolves year after year, you can count on having a good time with good friends, and, of course, a lot of latkes!

Purim in the Valley -- Adult Purim Carnival

Valley Ruach's Purim party is unlike any you've ever experienced! Unlike most young professionals parties, that center around schmoozing and loud music, Valley Ruach offers an adult carnival, complete with carnival games, inflatable rides (velco wall, basketball, moon bounces, inflatable jousting and other similar attractions), an open bar, free food, raffle prizes and more! This is Valley Ruach's largest party each year, and is likely to sell out, so start looking for information as early as January, and RSVP before the price goes up, and tickets sell out!
